Community Guidelines

Cam2cam works because both people are on camera and both people are treated with respect. These guidelines explain what that means in calls, in profiles and in clubs.

On a two-way call

Do

  • Point the camera at yourself, dressed, somewhere you would not mind a stranger seeing.
  • Let every call get past hello before you judge it.
  • Exit kindly. A quick wave before Next is plenty.
  • Share personal details only when you decide to.

Don’t

  • Capture the other person on screen, or pass on their picture or their words, unless they have plainly said yes.
  • Push for phone numbers, home addresses or social accounts, or give yours to people who never asked.
  • Turn the conversation toward money, outside gifts or selling something.
  • Carry on after hearing no.

Seven principles behind every rule

  1. Treat people decently. Identity, background and opinions are never grounds for attacking someone.
  2. Guard other people’s privacy. What you learn about someone is not yours to post.
  3. Keep it clean. Explicit, violent, gory and terror-related material has no place here.
  4. Obey the law, and especially the laws written to protect children.
  5. Be honest. Fake ads, fraud and misleading promotion are out.
  6. Speak up. We can only fix what gets reported.
  7. Shield minors. Harm to a child’s rights or safety is always handled as a serious matter.

What is not allowed, by where it appears

Rules differ slightly between parts of a profile. Before you upload, find the place it will show up.

Face verification

You must shoot your own verification video, with decent lighting and nothing covering your face. The person in it has to be the same person shown in your avatar, video show and photos; a mismatch means the verification is refused. Clips of somebody else, or clips somebody else made, are not accepted.

Reporting someone

Leave the call before anything else. Next, go to that person’s profile: the Report and Block options live there. A report reaches us together with the reason you pick; blocking puts the person on a list you can edit later. Extra context, or a problem that is not about one particular profile, can be sent to [email protected]. If a child is involved, also follow the child safety steps.

Penalties

What we do scales with how serious a breach is and whether it keeps happening:

  • Warning: for a minor or first-time breach.
  • Temporary suspension of some account features: for moderate breaches or repeat offences.
  • Permanent suspension: for severe breaches, or serious ones that keep recurring.

The final call on the right action is ours, made case by case, and offending content may be taken down as well. All enforcement options are listed in the terms of service.
